Lawrence Gardens bears the prestigious name of Sir John Lawrence who was the Viceroy to India during the late nineteenth century. This charming graden was laid out in the year 1862.

The scenic Lawrence Gardens covers an area of 112 acres. The large vicinity of the garden also encompasses a mosque and a library. The botanical garden is decorated with a great variety of exotic plants, which were brought from different parts of the world. The fascinating green beauty of this garden amazes every visitor.
At present Lawrence Gardens, Lahore is known as Bagh-e-Jinnah or Jinnah’s Garden. The Lawrence Gardens is situated on Lawrence Road and just next to the Lahore Zoo. The library of this garden is called Jinnah library, which is housed in a Victorian building. You can also enjoy various entertainment and sports facilities within the compound. Lawrence Gardens, Lahore was originally built like a botanical garden on the model of Kew Gardens. The Lawrence Gardens had a statue of Sir John Lawrence which has now been moved to Ireland.
At present there is a tomb of Shia Sufi, Baba Turat Muraad Shah which draws a good number of visitors.
